Brooke McClelland, LAC, MSOM
A California Board Licensed Acupuncturist, Brooke holds a Masters in Oriental Medicine from the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College of Berkeley. As part of her clinical training, she interned at West Berkeley Lifelong Medical Clinic where she treated primarily Spanish-speakers (she is fluent in Spanish) to decrease pain and increase vitality, immunity, and fertility. Brooke also completed an internship in Acupuncture Sports Medicine at the reputable UC Berkeley Simpson Center for Student-Athlete High Performance where she treated world-class athletes to help them heal quickly and completely from injuries, shorten their post-workout recovery, and increase their stamina.
Brooke first encountered acupuncture after she injured her shoulder while working on an organic farm. Intrigued with the theory of yin and yang and the five elements, she entered Chinese Medical School. A long-time gardener and lover of nature, Brooke treasures that Chinese Medicine evolved from the Daoists’ careful observation of the natural world and the human body. She relishes working with Chinese Medicinal Herbs.
Brooke believes that health or a lack of it can be traced back to the foods we eat, the practices we cultivate, and the thoughts we choose to think over and over again. The body is a self-healing organism and disease is the body’s attempt to cure itself. Brooke uses ancient TCM wisdom, functional medicine concepts, and mindfulness practices to guide patients back to abundant health. Having worked with children for many years, Brooke has a nurturing and grounding presence. She is currently growing and harvesting the Chinese herb ju hua (chrysanthemum) at home.
