Marya Vohryzek, LAC, MTCM
Marya Vohryzek is a California Board Licensed Acupuncturist and holds a Master's in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University. As part of her clinical training, she interned at a Veteran's Community Clinic and at the Mental Health Client Action Network in Santa Cruz. At these clinics, she provided support and treatments for those suffering from anxiety, depression, and a wide range of physical pain and ailments. After receiving her license, she worked at Octagon Acupuncture Community Clinic, providing acupuncture to her local Oakland community. During this time her sister was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and Marya gave her sister acupuncture and touch therapy almost daily to help alleviate the pain and the side effects from chemotherapy.
Marya has long been passionate about being of service and helping others, and prior to discovering Traditional Chinese Medicine, she received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UC Davis. After much exploration and travel, her heart’s path directed her towards this powerful medicine that uses the principles of Nature to diagnose and treat imbalances.
Marya is drawn to Traditional Chinese Medicine because it brings Mind, Body & Spirit into its healing principles. She is interested in treating all three, and is an advocate for the use of acupuncture for the treatment of psycho-emotional, spiritual and physical blockages. She believes that the body has the innate wisdom to find balance, and enjoys using this medicine to help nurture this process by supporting the body’s alignment with nature.
With intention, Marya brings her knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and her own connection to nature, that she continues to nurture, into the treatment room to help support each patient's unique journey towards balance, peace & joy.
